~ Mid 19thC Troughton & Sims Three Draw Cased Telescope ~

A fine three draw Telescope by Troughton & Simms of London dating to the mid 19th Century.

 

The telescope is of brass with a rosewood body.

It has a dust slider to the eyepiece and is fitted with an end cap.

The telescope is inscribed to the brass below the eyepiece Troughton & Simms, London.

It is complete with a fitted hard brown leather case embossed with the initials JD.

~ Dimensions ~

The telescope measures 26cm (10 inches) closed and 74cm (29 inches) when fully deployed.

The case measures 28cm (11 inches) long with a diameter of 6.5cm (2 inches).

Together they weigh 960g.

 ~ Condition ~

There is some general light wear to the body but overall the telescope is in nice condition throughout with no damage to the lenses and gives a good image when viewing. 

The case is in good condition with general age wear. It has just the minor problem of the stitching coming apart at the ends.
