  Meade Series 4000 Moon Filter: ND96. An essential for lunar observing in telescopes, the full moon’s appearance through the eyepiece of your telescope can be dazzling. Retaining dark adaption of your eyes is achieved easier by using a neutral density filter such as this to reduce brightness without affecting the natural colour balance.A moon filter acts like a pair of sunglasses dramatically reducing glare, brightness and lets you observe the lunar surface comfortably. Craters on the lunar surface stand out in better detail and definition and contrast is greatly improved. This filter may also be employed in the splitting of close double stars where one of the binary pair significantly exceeds the other in brightness.The Meade series 4000 ND96 Moon Filter is 1.25″ format and manufactured from high quality crown optical glass. Anti-reflection coatings are on both sides and its mounted in a machined aluminium cell.
