Sad to have to sell my Meade LX90 scope, but I’m upgrading and need to raise the funds.

This is Meade’s very popular 8 inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope (actually it’s 8.25 inch – Meade give you that little extra). Perfect size for both deep sky and planet observing – and also for astro-photography. 

Price new is 1,845 with over 200 worth of extras. So less than half price!

In great condition. Fine unmarked optics. Comes with it’s original 8×50 finder scope.

The scope comes with Meade’s go-to system that is simple to use and takes only a minute or so to align. With 30,000 objects in it’s memory there’s no shortage of objects to gaze at. 

The sturdy field tripod and double forked arm makes this extremely stable to use.

Comes with over 200 worth of extras!

A great scope and a great package of extras.

The mounting rings allow you to can mount a 3 inch refractor onto the top of this scope for greater magnification when looking at the plants.

The Telrad Red Dot Finder makes manual star hopping very easy-to-do as it projects concentric circles onto the sky. The best non-magnifying finder you can get.

The Dew Shield is very useful in stopping condensation onto the objective lens. 

The balancing system stops wear and tear on the motors.

The legs have some cosmetic scuffs on the lower parts of the legs. But they also have brand new tightening nuts (better than the original provided by Meade). The Autostar Controller attaches to one of the forks with velcro (rather than the rather awkward handset holder). Also I can’t find the original instructions booklet. But this is available online.

No diagonal or eyepieces are included. (The budget ones that came with the scope have been binned long ago).  But diagonals and eyepieces are readily available from 15 upwards from Ebay or online telescope shops. (It’s a good scope so invest in good eyepieces to get the best from it!) The scope can use either a 1.25″ or a 2″ diagonal. 

Courier Delivery – The telescope will be posted in it’s original box by UPS. The tripod will arrive in a second box. Fully insured, tracked and signed for.
