According to the manual, 36x – 175x magnification is the usable range of magnification – higher magnifications are impacted by atmospheric conditions.
I’ve assembled the telescope and pointed it at the moon. Everything seems in working order. I can confirm the controller works – it goes into a setup/star alignment procedure (which I didn’t have the patience/knowledge to complete), and the up/down/left/right buttons on the controller activate the motors and move the telescope.
