These vintage rubber-armoured binoculars are in very good condition and come with a green OptechE-Z comfort strap which distributes the weight and makes them feel even lighter: excluding strap, they weigh only 610 grams/21.5oz. Made by Leitz Portugal,they deliver a fine bright image with a wide field of view (110 m at1000 m) and are in superb working order. The collimationis perfect after a very recent service (receipt available), theview is clear and sharp and both focusing wheel and hinge are working smoothly:firm, positive and no looseness. The lenses are in great condition and youwould be hard pressed to find this collectable binocular in better conditionanywhere. The soft rubber eyecups can be folded down for use withspectacles/eye-glasses.Ihave listed them as water-resistant rather than waterproof simply because I havenever got them wet so I don’t know. However, the green armouring is ingreat condition and the serial number is 934612. Please look closely at all photographs: I have tried hard to capture anywear-and-tear but apart from slight loss of paint on the thumb-wheel and serialnumber, I am struggling. They would be ideal for use by bird-watchers,mariners, stalkers – anybody who doesn’t want a heavy weight around their necksbut who values a brilliant set of binocs that you can use in any weather.I am parting with them after 30 years careful use after astruggle, because for birding I have finally decided that 8x works better for me than 10x: you maywant to think about that before deciding whether to bid.
