Large Antique Brass Negretti & Zambra Library Telescope with Tripod + solar lens.AGE UNKNOWN – c.1900 ??I believe this type is called a Library telescope but I am no expert and could be wrong .DAMAGED LENS Large Telescope – main body 92cm long and 8cm across end.Appears this may have been left in an open case as one side has dulled ( orange colour ) just needs polishing – the rest is fairly bright with some tarnished spots .There is a light ding to barrel.Top end marked Negretti & Zambra London N&Z monogram to right side and 1096 to other edge.Focus knob to right side There are 2 end lenses – one is 42cm long with eyepiece cove .The other is black glass Solar viewing lens 18cm long – please USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU INTEND TO USE END LENS DAMAGED
Impressive lacquered Brass and metal folding Tripod ( not sure if Brass or metal beneath black paint )Rd.no.5990076 which is apparently early WW1 period c.1915 Not sure if Telescope is of same period Tripod stands 43cm tall.
I cannot see anything through Tripod other than dark and light – may be damaged end lens or may need stripping and cleaning SOLD FOR REFURBISHMENT ONLY – needs polishing – DAMAGED LENS Needs stripping and cleaning and replacement lens NO CASEGreat Tripod
