GENUINE ANTIQUE TELESCOPE by J H Stewart
This well worn single draw telescope is by the renowned instrument maker, J. H. Stewart as shown by the engraving on the draw tube.The full engraving reads; J H Stewart106-457 Strand 54 Cornhill Londonall in curly writing.
It shows signs of a hard life with a well worn leather sleeve, some dents in the tube and some slight damage to the object lens. None of these defects impair the viewing.
The photos attempt to show the worst of the defects.
Dimensions are length: 27.25″ closed and 34.25″ open, Object lens Diameter 2.5″ Eyepiece about .5″ diam
If I could recall my sixth form physics, I could maybe calculate its magnification.
At a guess it must be close to 20X.
