These Zeiss Teleater binoculars or opera glasses are in about as near perfect condition as you could get. I use the term ‘as near perfect’ just in case somebody points out the very slightest of edge rubbing and two minute scratches on a lock nut. There are also a few tiny specks of dust seen when back-viewed but not seen with normal viewing. There is one speck of dust that is visible with normal viewing but as it is not too bad I have left it for any new owner to decide if they would prefer to have the prism cleaned. Personally I believe that the covers and screws look so perfect that it would be a shame to disturb them. The glasses focus smoothly and are collimated.
The inscriptions are very clear, Carl Zeiss Jena on the left hand cover plate and Teleater 1128356  3 x 13.5 on the right hand.The original Carl Zeiss case is also in very good condition, the only fault being the very slightest of tearing at the ends of the lid hinge. Otherwise the case is perfect. The grey satin interior has a few rubbing marks where the glasses have been. The beveled mirror has no cracks or chips. Even the Carl Zeiss logo under the flap is still clearly visible. There is a tiny bit of rusting around the press-stud on the inside of the rear flap.The glasses also have their original cord with clips also in excellent condition.
