Thefamous german HENSOLDT WETZLAR optics name finally disappeared in the1960`s when it became submerged within the ZEISS empire. HENSOLDTwere pioneers of roof prism designs and used the DIALYT name beforeit became a world famous model under ZEISS themselves.Offeredhere is an excellent HENSOLDT WETZLAR NACHT DIALYT 8 x 56 roof prismbinocular. Rare and sought after by serious collectors, the NACHTDIALYT was a popular model in its day with hunters whoneededa lightweight model that could work well in low light conditions ofdawn and dusk. I would guess that this is a late example perhapsfrom the late 1950`s or early 60`s? It features winged eyecups whichI assume were standard or were they an accessory? The optics areexcellent and focusing controls are working well. Externally,this binocular is about as near to `MINT` condition as you are likelyto get, with virtually no signs of significant use. The brown leatherneck strap and original case is also excellent, complete with itsstrap, anda new microfibre lens cloth is supplied.Thereare no lens caps.Defects:Thelightest of external usage marks around the body.I`m being verypicky here!
