This  16×56 model is a lovely binocular to use, with a pleasing focus action and a bright & very wide field of view of c.75m at 1000m.  There are no scratches on the lenses, it is clean internally and in alignment. It is extremely light for such a powerful binocular – weighing only 860g. Thus this will be taken e.g.when hill walking when the Zeiss 15×60, which weighs nearly double this amount, would not be. Personally I prefer the eye-relief of this Hensoldt to the restricted eye-relief of all the Zeiss 15x60s (except the latest BGAT* model). This is the later model of the 16×56 – the earlier one had a field of only 62m at 1000m – which was less spectacular.

The case is very strong & will protect this binocular for many years to come. The strap is missing one stud-fastener, but could be secured with string or wire.  The original stud broke in two – the only time I have known that to happen in over 60 years of using binoculars!. Probably, almost certainly, a newer strap would be safer to use, so I include the strap only for sentimental reasons, because it came with the binocular!
