These superb quality waterproof binoculars are ideal for bird and wildlife watching and are also a fine choice for general purpose observation. The fully broadband multi-coated optics and Phase-Coated high-index BaK-4 prisms provide crystal clear views. The large 42mm objective lenses feature exotic ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass for enhanced colour fidelity and contrast. The wide field of view and generous eye relief of 15mm ensure this binocular is the perfect choice for users with or without spectacles. The magnesium alloy body is both compact and lightweight and the rubber armoured outer covering protect against knocks and bumps and make the binocular secure in the hand and silent in handling. The internal cavities are argon gas filled for fog-free viewing at any temperature. The rapid centre-focusing wheel keeps you on the action and is augmented by a convenient central click-stop dioptric adjustment (ideal if the binocular is to be shared with a partner). It delivers pleasingly precise control with no play or looseness…. the twist-out , rubber eyecups lock loosely in three positions – fully retracted, extended and between the two – offering a maximum eye relef of 17.2mm (the 10×42 is 15mm). I was impressed with the exceptionall wide field of view delivering , this puts the model in the premiership in this instance…The image delivered by the ED glass is also very good, especially when you take the price into consideration.
