Hawke 10to 40 x by 50 Scope, Telescope Excellent order.
HawkeScope has been used on 9 trips and is in superb order. It has a removable ZoomEyepiece Lens. The package came with many options & I opted for the 10x to40 times Eyepiece. This lens will also fit other scopes. Acuter for certain,plus others. The Eyepiece gives 10 to 40 times on a 50mm objective, 12 to 48times on a 60mm objective and 15 to 60 times on an 80mm objective. Lens alone would cost more than I expect toget for the whole package.
It is astraight scope which some prefer and it has a well made metal rotary mountbracket which allows easy turning of the scope with the hand turn locknut. Ithas a large ribbed and easy to focus wheel at the front end. Very simple inuse. And very well made to Hawkes high Standards. Very clear and nice andbright for its size. There are no marks on the Object lens, it is just my shadow as I took the photos outside.
It comeswith a zip on case which I have always used to protect it. There is a pocket oncase side for the Eyepiece but I leave it attached and leave the case open atthe end as in photo 5. Complete with original Box and Eyepiece Box. I got somuch pleasure from the close up bird watching scope views that I bought a 500Vanguard.
It iseasy to use and good for Bird Watching, Ship Spotting or distant viewing. Notcumbersome as some are, being only 300mm to 350mm long.
