German WW2 Srb & tys DF 7×50 Naval Binoculars with case. This is a pair of German Kriegsmarine binoculars. They were made by the Czech firm of Srb & tys, Prague with serial number on the front disk of 66556 for 1942/43. (Srb & tys was founded in 1919 by Jaroslav Srb and after WW2 became Meopta.) On the left rear prism cover is the German eagle with NSDAP symbol ( hidden in photos to comply with Ebay rules) and with the letter “M” for marine. On the right cover is the letter “N” for either the Marinestation der Nordsee at Wilhelmshaven where binocular procurement took place or meaning for use by the Nordsee fleet, “DF 7×50” (=Doppelfernrohr), and the number 4112, probably a military unit (or ship) code. The binoculars have recently had a full overhaul so optical condition is virtually as new, crystal clear internally, nicelly collimated and with new optical grade (Nyogel 767A) grease in the individual eyepice focussers for very smooth operation. All prisms and lenses are undamaged.They view extremely well, with a bright and sharp image with a wide field. Cosmetic condition is average and should be assessed from the photos – please look at them carefully. They have their original case and also the original case strap and binocular lanyard. The case is marked on the front (see photo) with the  “M” Kriegsmarine eagle with NSDAP symbol (again hidden for photo) and “V/1 ” an inspection/supply point coding. The case is in good condition and has had some repair stitching on the rear of the lid which appears very sound. There is a cream cloth lining and at the bottom of the case there are two turned wooden blocks to protect the eyepiece lenses (see photos.) Full specification for Srb & tys DF 7×50:- field of view: 7.3 deg = 128 m/1,000 m; APFOV 51 deg, weight 1022 g, exit pupil  7.14 mm.They will be carefully packed in a well-padded box and sent fully insured.
