My knowledge of this old telescope is about zero.Having said that I will describe what I see and answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability. It is a 6 draw genuine antique instrument and I’m guessing dating to the early part of the 19c although it could be earlier. It is constructed of brass and has a little pull down shutter with a hole in the centre built into the eye piece. The eye piece lens measures 10mm across and the lens at the other end measures 48mm across. The lenses appear clean and scratch free and when held up to the light light can be seen though the eye piece although there is a black mark across the bottom lens inside the telescope.I have not tried to focus it but the knarled end of the eye piece is threaded and turns so I assume that would be the method of focus. The 5 sliding drawers move smoothly and easily with no stalling or excess force required to open and shut the telescope. In the closed position it is 10 1/2″ (26.5cm) long and when fully extended it is just under 39 1/2″ (99cm) long.It is signed on the second section reading “Salom & Co, 137 Regents street,London”.I can find no other markings. There is an old leather end cap that is obviously original but no other case or cover. It is heavy for it’s size weighing 1.25klo.Good luck with your bids.International bidders welcome.
