GREAT PAIR OF 5.3 PRINZ 10 X 50 BINOCULARSWith coated opticsMade in the USSRThese are a pair of excellent binoculars from Prinz with a black leather neck strap and a tan clip down carrying case. They are an excellent middle-of-the-range binocular with their big bonus being their great narrow field of vision of just 5.3 – obviously ideal for close inspection of your subject.The magnification is 10 times with the diameter of the optical coated lenses being 50mm. For the uninitiated the 50 (in the 10 x 50) identifies the diameter in millimetres of the lenses.The lenses are both clear and are fully coated. Coated lenses have two advantages: 1. The image is considerably brighter due to an increased transmission of light and 2. Contrast & definition are improved because of the almost complete elimination of stray light reflected to and fro between the various lens surfaces.They are central focussing with the right hand eyepiece being adjustable for compensating variations in the strength of the user’s eyes – there is a diopter scale, marked + 0 – printed on the rear barrel . There is also a scale for quick width setting of the binoculars on the hinged central mount.The overall condition of the binoculars is superb with the black leatherette around the barrels of the binoculars immaculate.
