Firstly, this telescope needs work to bring it up to a good working standard so bid on that basis. It must be collection only as it is absolutely massive (the tube is about 132mm long) and there is no way it can be shipped.
The telescope is an 8 and a bit inch reflector made by the now defunct Darkstar company. These telescopes are now becoming vintage and as a keen amateur astronomer, I bought this telescope earlier in the year with the intention of bringing it back to its former glory but realistically I just can’t find the time and it is taking up a lot of space in my flat.

Like I said, it will need a fair bit work. Both primary and secondary mirrors (see pictures) will need replacing or re-coating and the spider support at the front of the scope needs some work. The dob base is actually not bad but dirty in places and the tube is solid with some chips off the paint here and there but no dents. The focuser is the original Darkstar 1.25″ twist focuser which could be replaced by a more modern rack and pinion or crayford model but I would personally leave it and keep it as authentically Darkstar as possible. The same situation applies to the finderscope.
Having said all that, it amazingly still works remarkably well particularly considering the state of the mirrors but obviously not to its full potential.
There are no eyepieces supplied.
