Refracting telescopes use an objective lens to bend the light through to the eyepiece using a focal point to display the image. The Danubia Merkur (Mercury) kit has an adjustable aluminium tripod which makes it easy to use and the 5×24 finder scope, three eyepieces, a 2 x barlow lens give plenty of scope for magnifying images and the erecting eyepiece that comes with the telescope, makes sure that the image remains the right way up when viewing the night sky. The Merkur Kit also has a moon filter which is really useful when looking at a full moon, when the night sky is crystal clear. It boasts a terrific 45-454x magnification which can be expanded using a range of accessories which are sold seperately, which makes this Danubia telescope the benchmark for amateur stargazers. 2 year warranty included. The 1.25inch accessory mount, is a universal size, so can take numerous accessories for easier viewing and more extensive use. The Merkur is compact enough to leave assembled at home, but can also be easily transported to other vantage points, making it very versitile. The telescope will easily pick up larger craters on the moon’s surface, 2 oe 3 red cloud belts of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn.
