Field of View: is the extent of the field seen through the glasses. It is expressed either in angular measure or in feet at a distance of 1000 feet. That is to say that the glass with a field of view of 150 will show you 150 feet of landscape at 1000 feet-proportionately greater fields at longer ranges and less at shorter ranges. Unfortunately the greater the magnification the less the field of view. This is an optical fact. It follows, therefore, that if you must be prepared to accept a smaller field of view than you would obtain with less powerful glasses.
