Great as a first telescope or first goto scope or as a grab n go.
After much consideration (and nagging from the missus) I’ve decided to part with my trusty, original goto telescope.
It is a Celestron Nexstar 114GT that I bought in 2001. It is in good overall condition but there are some usage marks. The most notable are some marks on the fork arm where I had a battery pack bonded on which has been removed (see photo) and 2 small plugs on the OTA where I had a different finderscope fitted before. The handset holder had the mounting clip broken a long while ago so is bonded onto the side of the fork arm.
All the optics seem clean & without blemishes.
It comes with Tripod, OTA, Fork arm, 4x Eyepieces – 25mm, 17mm, 10mm, 7.5mm (all basic but functional), Red dot finderscope, Handset& AA battery pack holder (not recommended to use this as they don’t last long).
The finderscope is an upgraded one from the original in that instead of having to directly screw onto tube it is fitted via a dovetail (easier to remove). The handset is an upgraded & later model – version 4 which makes setup and goto tracking much better than the original. I have replaced the primary mirror locking screws with knurled screws so collimation of the primary can be done without the need for a screwdriver.
I also have the original manual & CD that came with the setup.
I would prefer collection in person but, as I still have the original box & most of the packing, am willing to post.
