The CR150 became a legendary refractor in its day, and the type is still sold branded Skywatcher for over 500 for a new OTA only, no tripod. It’s not apochromatic and so there is some false colour, but for the price and the light-gathering power it received very good reviews – see for example Ed Ting’s original writeup:

I have owned it since new and reckon the reviews to be very fair – in my experience it gives very pleasing lunar views, is good on planetary with a yellow filter, and is impressive on deep sky. The only thing which lets it down is the comparatively under-specified EQ-5 tripod, which is why I used it on a Losmandy mount instead.

I’m selling because I have traded up, and so the Celestron has not been used much for the past few years. It’s a fairly big, heavy scope – certainly not for a beginner, but would be a good bargain for someone serious about the hobby but not wanting to part with a fortune.

Its condition optically is very good – the lens cell is clean and just a few specks of dust. The tube has gathered a few light scratches over the years, and one careless scrape on the dew shield. The tripod was in the garage (scope indoors) so is slightly battered but perfectly usable: one of the plastic thumb-tighteners has broken off, and a fixing bolt for one of the counterweights is missing.

The scope comes with finder, 1.25″ star diagonal, counterweights, tripod, manual and a generic 10mm Plossl eyepiece (a 25mm would also be a good investment). It’s around 140cm long (for transport) and although I think I do have the original box, local pickup is the sensible option.
