Please note, UKauction, UKbids onlyThisCarl Zeiss West, Oberkochen 8×30 binocular has been part refurbished, pleaseread carefully and study photos. It was devoid of any paint on the objective prismplates and rims, they were rubbed down, sprayed black and given a coat of clearlacquer. The ocular prism plates had the worn edges sprayed in and the wholeplates clear lacquered for a reasonably uniform finish. Not a factory finish,but a decent job.  It is clean inside, nodirt or fungus, glass good, clear view, smooth focus, and in alignment. Thebody covering is good. NOTE Negative pointsas follows: Looking down the left objective there is a small chip on one prismedge, at about 1 o’clock, this is out of the light path and cannot be seen onnormal viewing. There was some fungus on the inside lens of both objectivecells, it has been removed, however that meant loss of the coatings on theinside of the objective cell. The outside objective coatings look ok. I assumethat some small loss of optical quality may result, but cant really discern amajor difference when comparing with my 8x30B. There is paint loss on fronthinge cap, but the serial number is still clear. Couple of  small marks on metal edges, and a very smallding on the top edge of one bending bar arm. A very small dent on the edge ofthe right objective rim, and the left objective rim is slightly misshapen. Comeswith neck strap, original case in  usedcondition, the case strap is a leather replacement and the case has had arepair to the strap attachment one side.
