CARL ZEISS JENA SEPTAREM SUPER “S ”   7 X 40 W BINOCULARS    ” VERY RARE   ” This auction is for a goodpair of Carl Zeiss Super   S . 7 x 40binoculars produced in East Germany in 1969 and the serial number is3623696. They have the original case which needed a replaced hinge and is nowin a sound condition. The case strap and lanyard are good.This model was the civilianversion of the DF 7 x 40 or “Checkpoint Charlie “as it is oftencalled and was used by the East German NVA or Nationale Volks Armee , by thepatrol  guards for continuoussurveillance duties.This Super S has been well usedand the cosmetic condition does show marks over the past number of years withthe lacquered housings losing some of the brightness.  The body work has had no damage and no dintswhat so ever.The centre focus wheel hadthe rubber covering replaced with a ribbed type for easy and accurate use.                 Optically they are in verygood condition and the image produced is excellent.  They give a superb bright and sharp image andwith the eyecups extending from about 10mm to 20mm above the eye lens, are idealfor the spectacle user as the full field of view is available.Reverse viewing reveals aspotless interior and in fact both objectives show the condition as beingcrystal clear with no fungus or any other debris and I will confirm that thecollimation is also perfectAll focusing function aresmooth and positive and these are a fine pair of binoculars and will I am suremake a valuable additionor any user ,as they are a delight to use and the performance of them  is superb.                                             I do have a return policy and if they do notadhere to the above description a full refund is guaranteed Please advise me ifany problems exist thank you for your cooperation.
