Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “Jenoptem” 8 x 30w binoculars serial number 4455825 (1975.) This is a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars clearly marked “DDR” and with the correct 7-digit serial number. These high-quality compact Zeiss binoculars are in sound, fault-free optical condition with perfect, crystal-clear optics and with absolutely no damage to prisms or any cleaning marks/scratches on the lenses. Collimation is perfect with no double image. They focus very smoothly and produce and bright, pin-sharp image. Cosmetic condition is, however, only average with considerable wear to the paint. They are therefore Grade A optically but only grade B cosmetically, the case also being rather worn. But with excellent performance from the world-leading Zeiss optics, still ready to give many years of reliable and enjoyable use. The binoculars will be carefully packed in a well padded box for dispatch and sent fully insured. I never end auctions early so there is no “buy-it-now” price.
