A pair of Carl Zeiss Jena Jenoptem 7 x 50W binoculars with original case, straps, instruction manual and guarantee.Serial Number 3994697. Marked ‘Made in DDR’Complete with neckstrap and original leather case with neckstrap.Centre focussing and individual focussing for right eyepiece.Also included is an original ‘Instruction Manual’ – a folded sheet with instructions for use, and the original ‘Lifetime Guarantee’ with a Registration No. B28149. The seller accepts no responsibility for the continuing validity of the Guarantee.
Overall the binoculars are in excellent condition.The only marks to the paintwork of the binocular casing are:1. Slight abrasions to the top edge of the left top plate (the one with the Carl Zeiss Jena marking)2. A very slight mark to the top edge of the right top plate (the one with the Jenoptem marking)3. Slight wear to the paint on the edge of the circular cover marked 3994697.4. Looking at the objective lenses, a slight mark on each front ring surrounding the lenses.The focussing action operates very smoothly as does the individual eyepiece focussing.The screws in the top and bottom plates show no signs of having been removed at any time.
The lenses are externally very clean with no signs of any abrasion. Looking through the eyepieces the image is clear, fairly bright and focusses well.Looking backwards through the objective lenses at a bright light source, there are no spots of dirt, but there appears to be slight clouding looking through both objective lenses. There are no signs of fungus growth.
The brown leather case is in good condition, with a few minor marks here and there. The red velvet-style lining is complete and without tears or abrasions but clearly shows the impressions of where the binoculars have been stored. The binocular black leather neck strap is in excellent condition. The case brown leather neck strap is in good condition, with some slight cracking of the front face of the leather and a definite rubbed or abrasion mark in one place.The Instruction Manual and Guarantee are quite crumpled, having been stored in the binocular case.
