CARL ZEISS JENA DODECAREM 12 X 50B BINOCULARS This is one of the bestbinoculars produced by the above Company which is now becoming to bevery scarce as they have not being produced for some years. The build quality is outstanding , the images are ultra sharp and thisinstrument is ideally for birding, hunting and all astronomy users. The cosmetic condition isexcellent with only light user marks on the paintwork and nodamage on the body work. The serial number is 6288437 which I understandwas produced in 1985. The binocular doeshave a case not original has had wearbut is very sound ) the straps and lanyard are good. The optical condition issuperb giving crystal clear image and reverse viewing reveals a very cleanand bright interior with no signs of any fungus or other debris. Thecollimation is also correct ( no double vision ) There is a small transparentspot on the right hand objective lens and I feel that another spot ( 10 mm apart is ) purely the first one reflectedagain. This has occurred during the multi-coating process duringmanufacture. This has no effect what soever to the image produced which is perfect and the optical condition isexceptional. All focusing functions aresilky smooth and positive also both of the rubber eye cups and the objectiverubber rims are in perfect condition.
