Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “Jenoptem” 10 x 50W multi-coated binoculars serial number 6380416 (1986). This is a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars, clearly marked “DDR” and bearing the correct 7-digit serial number. They were made just before production finally ceased in 1991and so are one of the newest pairs available. And they feature Zeiss’s world-beating T3M multi-coated optics for maximum light transmission and optimal viewing even in difficult conditions. The binoculars have no faults or damage optically, are crystal-clear internally and nicely collimated – i.e. no double image. And the cosmetic condition is also excellent with close to new paintwork and unmarked leather. They focus very smoothly producing a bright, pin-sharp image, Carl Zeiss optical excellence at its finest. They are sold with their original solid-leather Zeiss case which is unusual in being made from attractive textured leather and with a brown velvet lining. There is also the leather case shoulder strap and black leather binocular lanyard. A great classic binocular ready to give many years of use and enjoyment. Dimensions:- length 16 cms, width 20 cms and height 6 cms. Weight of binoculars without case1 kg. Angle of view 7.3 deg. or 128m at 1000m.
