Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “Jenoptem” 10 x 50W multi-coated binoculars serial number 6781300 (1988). This is a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars, clearly marked “DDR” and bearing the correct 7-digit serial number. They were made just before production finally ceased in 1991and so are one of the “newest” pairs available. And they feature Zeiss’s world-beating T3M multi-coated optics for maximum light transmission and optimal viewing even in difficult conditions. The binoculars are in perfect working order with no faults or damage, crystal-clear internally and nicely collimated (no double image or eyestrain.) The cosmetic condition is also excellent as they have only been used very occiasionally. Both paintwork and leather are fresh and close to new. They focus very smoothly producing a bright, pin-sharp image, Carl Zeiss optical excellence at its finest. There is one minor cosmetic issue, however, two small dents in the edges of the left prism covering, possibly due to the binoculars being trapped in a car door. I have taken two close-up photos of these – please look at them carefully before bidding. They are sold with their original solid leather red velvet lined case with shoulder strap and black leather binocular lanyard. (The case has a shallow scratch in its front – see photo.) A great classic binocular ready to give many years of use and enjoyment. Dimensions:- length 16 cms, width 20 cms and height 6 cms. Weight of binoculars without case1 kg. Angle of view 7.3 deg. or 128m at 1000m. They will be carefully packed in a well-padded box and sent fully insured. I am happy to post world-wide.
