Carl Zeiss Jena Binoculars JENOPTEM 10×50  Coated Lenses
Superb Quality Wide View German Made Binoculars Serial number 5417546 (1979)production stopped in 1991This is a fine top quality binocular that is in a very good used condition.No scratches on any lenses. The views are stunning.  Multi-Coated Lenses – helps minimize lens reflections, improve the clarity of vision and protect the lenses
I can only see small areas of paint loss which suggests minimal use. The main focus wheel and right diopter adjustment operate smoothly and correctly.  Both barrels (in reverse view) are very clear and bright – there are a few tiny specks that have no impact on views – see picturesFree from mould and fungus attack. These binoculars are collimated for prolonged fatigue – free viewing (no double image)I found the collimation to be ‘very good’ with no eyestrain.These are a superb pair of binoculars made by Carl Zeiss the world famous German optical manufactures.The red velvet lined hard brown binocular case (and strap) are also in a good condition – there are some external marks on the case but nothing too serious. The black leather binocular strap is also in a very good used condition. Stamped – DDR (East German)
Constructed of brass, steel and aluminium, covered with black lacquer and leatherette, Bakelite eyepiece surrounds. Wide angle of view to aid easy object location.The Jenoptem 10×50 has been a long standing ‘classic’ binocular for many years!These binoculars are both collectable as they are usable. Binoculars will be well packed/padded.

Beware of far Eastern produced Carl Zeiss copies which have a six digit serial number instead of the normal seven. These copies also have a groove running along the circumference of the large central focus wheel. Thank you
