I have several sets of Binoculars on at present – I am not a Binocular expert or Binocular dealer – If there is dirt or Fungus inside visible I will mention it as with chipped damaged lenses.I do not strip / clean or tamper with binoculars so all are described based upon visual examination I do not pay for optics to be cleaned once received ( which I have been asked to do in past)
Boer War / WW1 era Negretti & Zambra Telescope Binoculars with aluminium body .WORN CONDITIONRare binoculars .29cm long before extension .Extends to 36.5cm long and then to 41cm long when hood shades extended.The dark green tooled Leather grips are missing from upper body of Binoculars and small strip missing below one eyepiece.The binoculars have focus when and another for extending central width ( usually hinged) Beneath one extension is stamped Bte SGB? Aluminium & Cuivre ( French for Aluminium & Copper.)Eyepieces stamped Negretti & Zambra , Opticians London.To be more of a novelty than great binoculars – obviously very expensive ne , I would think outclassed quite quickly ( sizewise) I have just looked up round and can still read a number plate in region of 1/3 of Mile away so not too bad.Some visible spotting on lenses and I don’t think the collimate correctly.Knock to edge of eyepiece and end tubes come loose ( may need some pipe thread tape to tighten up ) I think this is due to flex in Aluminium.SOME WEAR / MISSING GRIPS Leather case MISSING lid , wear to outer of case.Strap snapped and worn ,.Lined with purple velvet.
May be of use to restore another set – you may be able to make one great set from 2 similar sets like this.Could be stripped of Leather and polished?
