A pair of Revelation (Chinese made) 20×80 binoculars. These are very large, two huge 80mm objective lens, with multi-coating and Bak4 prisms (which are prisms reckoned to be better for astronomy, because although heavier than Bak7, they transmit more light). I have put them against a plastic 2-pint milk container for scale purposes. They come with the original case and nylon strap, plus the original tripod adapter. I have tended to put them on a monopod (not for sale, but inexpensive on ebay) and scanned the skies, particular Andromeda, Jupiter, Orion’s belt or the three main star clusters in Auriga. I have made sure they were coliminated years ago, so stars appear as one, with both eyes open and relaxed. I have owned them for more than eight years, but they tend to come out only in the winter with the dark skies early in the evening. Holding the binoculars near the objective lens (rather than the prism housings) would make it possible to hand hold for a short while at the horizontal, I tend to sit in a reclining chair, letting the eyepiece rest on the face and holding the objective lens, looking at 70 to 45 degrees. I am using some other binoculars at the moment, so these are surplus to requirement. The binoculars have their original dust caps for the objective lens and the eyepiece area.Prefer to use local collection only as heavy and they are relatively delicate, as all optical equipment, but do contact me about the situation.
