BAUSCH & LOMB DISCOVERER 7×50 BINOCULAR This auction is for a fantastic example of the exceptional Bausch & Lomb Discoverer 7×50 binocular, a model that is now extremely hard to find.
SPECIAL FEATURESThis rare binocular, which was beautifully-made in Japan, is without doubt Bausch & Lomb’s best ever 7×50 and is in my view one of finest 7x50sever made by any maker.
This model was one of the very last Bausch & Lomb binoculars to be made in Japan before production of their binoculars was transferred to China. The Japanese heritage is obvious in the sensational optical quality (brightness, contrast and colour rendition are all superb) and wonderful build quality of this landmark binocular.
It has state-of-the-art multicoatings on the lenses and prisms which, combined with the high quality glass used in this binocular, result in an exceptionally good image. CONDITIONThe binocular, optical elements and accessories are all in excellent condition.
BINOCULAR BODY – 9/10: just a few small marks from previous use.
OPTICS – 10/10: the internal and external glasswork is in outstanding condition, with no scratches, haze, fungus, dust or other marks.
STRAP – 9/10: just a few small marks from previous use.
RAINGUARD – 9/10: just a few small marks from previous use.
OTHER – the rubber eyecups are a little misshapen but this does not affect the functioning of the binocular.
