Description The new Barr & Stroud Sierra range of binoculars are a blend of superb optical quality and rugged refinement that has produced an elegant range of binoculars that take the Barr & Stroud brand to new level of performance and sophistication.
The Barr & Stroud Sierra is the optimum all rounder in the range. Its 42mm objective lenses in combination with its magnification makes this the model which passes the most amount of light through to the users eyes, this is important if the observer will be using the binoculars in low light conditions such as dawn and dusk when wildlife are on the move, or looking closely at a bird’s plumage in dense foliage where the light is restricted. 8x magnification is also relatively easy to hold steady without the need for additional support, such as a tripod, monopod or hide-clamp, in most conditions.
The Sierra range from Barr & Stroud feature rugged construction combined with brilliant optics. They are waterproof to a depth 1.5m of water for three minutes, plenty of time to retrieve them if you have dropped them in a stream or puddle. This requires a high degree of mechanical quality in the construction of the binocular which is evident as soon as you pick the binocular up or use the super smooth focus control wheel. We don’t expect that you will make a habit of dropping the binoculars into deep water but we do expect that you will want to use them in any weather the planet can throw at you, so you can feel assured that the Barr & Stroud ‘Sierra’ can take it, again and again. This ability is further enhanced by the binoculars’ rubber armoured body which protects it from shocks and knocks.
The binoculars are filled with nitrogen gas which keeps water out and also stops the optics suffering from internal fogging in adverse weather conditions, this binocular is truly weatherproof.
Fully Multi Coated optics are standard features of the Barr & Stroud ‘Sierra’ range as are BaK-4 phase coated prisms. This degree of sophistication ensures that as much light as possible is transmitted through the optics which results in a super bright contrast rich images of high colour fidelity for the user even in low light conditions where less expensive optics and coatings result in a dramatic loss of performance.
For the comfort of the user the binoculars are supplied with metal twist up eyecups that are rubber coated which make them equally practical for people to use with or without spectacles. The rapid focus mechanism takes the user from close focus to infinity in less than one turn of the focus control knob, which ensures that you can follow the action however fast it is happening.

UK Shipping Orders received before 2pm are usually dispatched the same working day. Standard UK shipping is FREE. UK orders under 300 are sent by Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Delivery. Most items are delivered the next working day, but Royal Mail’s estimate for this delivery service is 1-3 days. However, please bear in mind that we cannot contact Royal Mail about deliveries that have not arrived until ten working days have passed. We also offer GUARANTEED NEXT WORKING DAY DELIVERY for an additional 6.99. UK orders over 300 will either be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, or DHL Courier. Both will arrive next working day.
Shipping Outside the UK ANY ORDERS FROM OUTSIDE THE UK MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL SHIPPING FEES APPLIED BASED ON THEIR DESTINATION. We are happy to ship to most countries, but if you are ordering from outside Europe please contact us first for a quote and to check the guidelines regarding addresses we are able to ship to. Unfortunately shipping to the Russian Federation is currently unavailable due to constraints with our couriers.
Returns If your item is faulty, please contact us by telephone ASAP on 02920 394 182 or 01633 262738. If you wish to return an item, please return to the address below with a short cover note explaining the reason return and what you would like done, a note of ebay user name, and a copy of your receipt. This will ensure that your return is dealt with as quickly as possible. RETURNS OF UNWANTED ITEMS MUST BE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF RECEIVING THE ITEMS. Items that are returned to us in perfect unopened and unused condition will receive a full refund. Any item that has been opened or used will incur a 10% restocking/repackaging fee. This includes sealed boxes, or sealed accessories and manual/software included in boxes.
