Don’t expect great things however if your observing takes youdark places, if low light observations are important to you then you would bebetter off looking at the 10×42 or better still the 10×50, but if portabilityis your prime requirement then this little gem may be exactly what you arelooking for in a binocular! The Sierra range from Barr Stroud feature ruggedconstruction combined with brilliant optics. They are waterproof to a depth1.5m of water for three minutes, plenty of time to retrieve them if you havedropped them in a stream or puddle. This requires a high degree of mechanicalquality in the construction of the binocular which is evident as soon as youpick the binocular up or use the super smooth focus control wheel.We don’texpect that you will make a habit of dropping the binoculars into deep waterbut we do expect that you will want to use them in any weather the planet canthrow at you, so you can feel assured that the Barr Stroud ‘Sierra’ can takeit, again and again.
