Antique Galilean Binoculars by Thomas Armstrong & Brother Ltd. of Manchester. Featuring rotary eyepiece lenses for theatre, field & marine surveying. Length variable from 13.5cm – 19.5cm. Appear to be in working order although could do with a service. Stamped with the Victorian worker bee emblem and no.3349 on eyepiece lens selector knob. Engraved ‘J.J.James 1.8.83’ on barrel of right eye objective lens. Objective lenses are 4.4cm in diameter. Right eyepiece lens on theatre setting is cracked. Some inclusions and fine scratches on objective lenses. Eye piece rocks by a few millimetres when not fully extended. Leather case in poor condition, stitching has come away in places.
