I am offering for sale an antique pair of brass field binoculars. They are quite large: when the brass tubes are extended the binoculars are c. 17cm tall; when they are closed they are c. 14cm. The width is 12.5cm. They might have been used for bird watching / spying on neighbours / military purpose, not sure as I’m not an expert in the subject.
The binoculars are generally in good condition; there is some wear to the brass and black paint as you can see in the pictures, but I think this adds to their character. The lenses inside are intact; I have cleaned them and noticed a peculiar mark on one of them, which may be an indication of their make or intent. I have tried to capture it in a photo but it is quite difficult.
