A pair of Victorian Jumelles Mars folding skeleton opera glasses or binoculars. An interesting little gadget, dating from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. In good condition however there is a pin missing from the slider and there appears to be potentially a thin film of glue around the lenses – it does not affect their use. This could be the original mounting but unsure. Made in France.It is marked “MARS” – “Btee” – “FR & ETR” and “MODELE DEPOSE”The piece is a real “steampunk” style gadget and looks great displayed. Max. dimention (in the “folded” position) is 4 inches (10 cm). We always use Signed For or Insured services (unless you choose otherwise on smaller value items). Although these do cost a little more, they offer better service and protection for items, so are worth the extra cost in case of any problems. I will combine postage for multiple items, provided they can be safely packed together. The Worldwide postage quoted applies to most destinations, however, European countries are often cheaper, so please ask for the postage cost to your European destination if you want further clarification. NON UK BIDDERS: In theory we are happy to ship most items overseas, but those which are large and/or heavy can be very expensive via UK shipping channels. CONDITION: We try to describe any specific flaws accurately, but as all the items we sell are antique or vintage, they will show some signs of wear and tear.
