The TS Optics Megastar 1550 is aimed at amateur astronomers looking for more than just a small aperture refractor telescope. The Megastar with its 150mm primary mirror with 1400mm focal length gathers about 9x as much light as a typical 50mm refractor.
9x as much light means that all objects can be seen much brighter, and most of all: With the TS Optics Megastar 1550 you have about 500-fold as many celestial objects within reach as with a small refractor telescope!!!

One of the most indispensable and yet too often overlooked details of a telescope is its mount. If mount or tripod are not strong enough you won’t be able to enjoy even the best optics – the image will shake and will remain unfocused, no matter how hard you try.
For the TS Optics Megastar 1550 we took particular care that the mount and the tripod are strong enough to carry the telescope with good stability. This is the very basis for successful observing sessions!
The sturdy aluminium tripod can be easily adjusted in height to individually match your own physique and observing conditions. Specifications:

Often incredibly high magnifications are stated to make a telescope appear more powerful than it really is. The maximum useful magnification is limited by the laws of physics and is usually about 1.5x to 2x the aperture in millimeters.
Catadioptric telescopes like the TS Optics Megastar, but also other, similar looking telescopes, should be used with rather moderate magnifications. We recommend magnifications up to approximately 130 to 150x.
For galaxies and planetary nebulae you can use higher magnifications up to approximately 225x.Scope of Delivery:
The TS Optics Megastar 1550 comes complete with the following XXL accessory package. All parts have been individually chosen for this telescope. To begin with you need no further accessories! A part of the XXL accessory package- Telescope TS Optics Megastar 1550
– equatorial mount EQTS2 with sturdy adjustable height aluminium tripod
– 6×30 finderscope for locating the celestial objects
– 2 high quality Plossl eyepieces with rubber eyeguards for better viewing comfort. Plossl 25mm for 56x magnification and Plossl 6.5mm for 215x magnification. The eyepieces have the standardized 1.25″ filter thread, allowing you to use high quality colour and nebular filters. This is a detail not always considered!
– 2x Barlow Lens. Doubles the magnification (e.g. with the 25mm Plossl and the 2x Barlow Lens you attain a magnification of 2x 56x = 112x.)
– 1.5x Erecting Lens. Allows you to use the telescope for terrestrial observing by returning the normally upside-down image to its natural orientation.
