Generally speaking, the polarization effect makes blue sky a deeper blue, eliminates surface reflection and helps to reduce atmospheric haze.The Polarizing Filter Set is particularly useful for reducing glare while observing the moon, double stars, the planets and terrestrial subjectsall without affecting the colour of the object being observed. This filter set is comprised of two filters that could be thread into either an eyepiece. When only one filter is used, you will get 30% light transmission. When both filters are used together, you can vary the degree of transmission. By varying the amount of light transmitted, the filters, in effect, become a continuously variable neutral density filter. At maximum density, the Polarizing Filter Set transmits only 5% of entering light, creating great visual effect.
